For the 11th time in a row, Kilkerrin-Clonberne Senior Ladies have won the Senior A County Championship Final. Kilkerrin Clonberne LGFA defeated Claregalway in Sunday's 2023 Galway Ladies Galleon Restaurant SFC final at Tuam Stadium, by 2-09 to 0-08. 2023 was the fifth year-in-a-row that Kilkerrin/Clonberne faced Claregalway in the Galway Ladies SFC final, the seventh time in 9 years.
Lynsey Noone opened the scoring in the opening minute, followed closely with an excellent goal by Olivia Divilly. Claregalway got off the mark in the 6th minute with their first point of the match. Kilkerrin-Clonberne looked comfortable throughout but did find it difficult at times to get through to goal due to some excellent Claregalway defending. Nicola Ward found her way through though and delivered a fantastic goal. Half time score was KC: 2-06 to Claregalway's : 0-05. Some notable performance came from Niamh Divilly, Caitlyn Boyle and Nicola Ward.
In the third minute of the second half, a clash of heads between Hannah Noone and Claregalway's Megan Glynn saw play stopped in order for the Claregalway player to being away taken by ambulance. Play resumed. Claregalway added to their tally in the second half with some excellent scores.
